for People with Disabilities
“Ready, Willing and Able”
Family
Services of Peel’s “Ready, Willing and Able” is an innovative employment and vocational support program
for people with disabilities sponsored by Service Canada through
The Opportunities Fund.
“Ready,
Willing and Able” works with adults who
have a disability who are currently unemployed and are interested
in:
·
employment opportunities
·
exploring vocational options
·
developing and broadening work skills
·
work experience
·
work evaluation in a work specific environment
The
“Ready, Willing and Able” Program will work with people, irrespective
of their disability.
The
program assists persons to obtain employment, volunteering positions
and develop work experience opportunities in order to determine
an appropriate vocational career path and experience as well as
employment specific opportunities. On the job support and job coaching
are provided for a period of time to facilitate integration and
work success.
Further
information can be obtained by calling Family Services of Peel at
905 453 5775 or
VPI @ 905 866 6001 to register.
Job
coaches work with individuals to assess and determine employment
opportunities, career determinations and to develop an individualized
employment plan.
The
individual employment plan would consider work experience, vocational
interests, volunteering and work placements to develop “on the job”
experience for persons previously restricted from employment avenues
as a result of one’s disability.
“Ready,
Willing and Able” works with employers
to create unique and innovative work opportunities that allow people
with disabilities opportunities previously not available through
traditional employment programs.
